Dear Parent and/or Guardians,

As another unpredictable winter continues to make its presence known, I, as well as the entire Boiling Springs Football Coaching Staff, hope your family is doing well, staying safe, and keeping warm.

Preparation for the upcoming 2009 season has already begun. The young men and coaches have been working diligently in the weight room since November 27th. The program includes running and lifting, components necessary for a well-conditioned team. If you are unaware, the weight room is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. If it will be open on a Wednesday, a 24 hour notice will be given to the players about the change in schedule. The program begins directly after school in the Iron Forge Building. Completion of the training ends between 4:15 and 4:30 p.m. When a weather cancellation occurs, unfortunately, the facility for training will be closed as well. The lifting and running program requires approximately 50 minutes to complete. Please try to convey to your son the importance of training for the 2009 season.

There is a player/parent meeting currently schedule for February 17th in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will review the weight room schedule, provide applications to varsity team camp, in form you of dates for possible 7-on-7 sessions, explain when and where youth camps will be, and try to provide more information for everyone to understand on-going changes that may occur with the program. Both player and parent/s are encouraged to make an attempt to attend.

Youth Football Camps organized through the Recreation Department have been scheduled in June. Young men going to be in grades 2nd thru 6th in the fall of 2009 will have a chance to participate in a camp on June 8th to June 11th. The camp hours will run 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the newly renovated Boiling Springs Stadium. More information will be provided at the player/parent meeting.

Football players who will be in grades 7th thru 9th in the fall of 2009 will have a chance to participate in a camp on June 22nd to June 25th. The camp hours will run 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Boiling Springs Stadium as well. More information will be provided at the player/parent meeting.

Varsity players are currently scheduled to participate in local 7-on-7 sessions throughout the summer on Saturday mornings. The site will change week to week. The locations have not been determined yet. The team will need to arrive at the host site at 9:30 a.m. The 7-on-7 sessions will begin at 10 and finish at 12. A spread sheet of the locations will be provided at a later date.

Furthermore, Varsity players are currently scheduled to participate in a 7-on-7 tournament at WVU on June 19th and 20th. It is an overnight trip. Details about the tournament and registration will be provided at the player/parent meeting.

The Varsity players will be attending Team Camp at Albright College this year. Dates of the camp are July 30th and 31st and August 1st and 2nd. It is an overnight camp. Details about the camp and registration can be obtained at the player/parent meeting.

Please feel free to contact me at the school if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. I am looking forward to a safe and successful 2009 season.

Go Bubbler Football!

Sincerely,
Coach Matthew Heiser
